Cobaw Ridge - Macedon Ranges (2008 vintage organic in conversion)

Alan and Nelly Cooper planted their vines in 1985 on the warmer, northern slopes that are positioned on the cusp of the divide. The vineyard is in a natural amphitheatre backing onto the Cobaw State Forest, 610 metres above sea level.

The season of 2006 saw Cobaw Ridge adopt a fully organic approach both in the vineyard and with its winemaking. This is with the view of being registered Organic with the N.A.S.A.A. within the next three years. The wines are grown, made and bottled on the estate and reflect the passion and commitment of the Coopers.

Max Allen - Gourmet Traveller – April 2007

Cobaw Ridge has achieved a reputation as Australia’s leading maker of the rare Italian grape lagrein. (Alan) Cooper is also an advocate of the Diam cork, which is claimed to be taint-free and another reason to buy these wines.
